Our research group took part in the Pint of Science Festival, an international science communication event organised by the science communication association ‘Pint of Science España’.
At this event, Miriam Gámiz Aguilera addressed the growing need to develop less invasive diagnostic methods in the field of reproductive health. Although biopsy remains the gold standard for diagnosing numerous gynaecological conditions, its invasive nature is driving the search for alternatives that are more accessible to patients. In this context, menstrual blood was presented as a biological source of great interest for identifying new biomarkers capable of improving the diagnosis of various gynaecological diseases.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to bring research closer to the public, foster dialogue with the public and highlight the importance of science communication in raising awareness about women’s health. We would like to thank the organisers of Pint of Science Granada for their work in promoting science communication, and all those who attended for their interest and participation, which contributed to the success of the event.
