Repro-UGR group is a young, enthusiastic and highly competitive group. Our overall goal is to bring more understanding into the molecular aspects of human reproduction from the first steps of oocyte fertilisation and embryo development, endometrial maturation up to female and male infertility and how the infertility treatment outcomes and diagnosis could be improved.
Our main research interests are:
- Identify molecular dynamics and biomarkers of endometrial receptivity and factors affecting embryo implantation.
- Studying the epigenetic changes and maintenance of genome integrity during cell differentiation in the developing early embryo and pluripotent stem cells.
- Maternal and placental microbiome in pregnancy.
- Microbial composition and role in human reproduction with focus on endometrial and seminal microbial profiles. See projects Endo-Map and ROSY.
- Life-style factors such as diet and physical activity of infertile couples that could influence the infertility treatment outcomes.
